Zutaten
2/3 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup granulated sugar
Zest of one lemon (optional, for added flavor)
Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Vorbereitung
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a madeleine pan, or use a non-stick madeleine pan.
Melt the Butter:
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Allow it to cool while you prepare the other ingredients.
Prepare Dry Ingredients:
In a mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
Prepare Wet Ingredients:
In a separate large mixing bowl, beat the eggs, vanilla extract, and granulated sugar until the mixture becomes pale and slightly thickened.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
Gently fold the sifted dry ingredients into the egg mixture until just combined.
Add Melted Butter:
Gradually add the melted butter to the batter, folding until well incorporated. If you're using lemon zest, fold it into the batter at this point.
Fill Madeleine Molds:
Spoon the batter into the prepared madeleine molds, filling each about 3/4 full.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the tops spring back when lightly touched.
Cool in Pan:
Remove the madeleines from the oven and let them cool in the pan for a few minutes.
Transfer to Wire Rack:
Transfer the madeleines to a wire rack to cool completely.
Optional: Dust with Powdered Sugar:
If desired, dust the cooled madeleines with powdered sugar before serving.
